UAE expresses solidarity with Azerbaijan over Iranian attacks

Saqr Ghobash, speaker of the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates, held a telephone conversation with Sahiba Gafarova, speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Parliament), to discuss recent developments related to attacks attributed to Iran.

According to the Azerbaijani Parliament, cited by Caliber.Az, during the call, the two speakers expressed serious concern over what they described as unjustified attacks by Iran on the territories and civilian populations of their countries and strongly condemned such actions.

The sides stressed that the peoples of Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates support peace and stability, emphasising that attacks targeting civilians are unacceptable.

Ghobash also conveyed the UAE’s solidarity with Azerbaijan, its leadership and its people in light of the recent events, underlining the importance of cooperation and mutual support between friendly states.

The speakers further highlighted the importance of respecting the sovereignty of states, adhering to the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter, and strengthening cooperation and solidarity between friendly countries to safeguard regional security and stability.
