UAE official calls for greater unity across Islamic nations
Current global challenges require the Islamic world to overcome fragmentation, reduce the risk of confrontation, and strengthen cooperation, First Deputy Speaker of the UAE Federal National Council Tariq Humaid Al Tayer said as he addressed the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States held in Baku.
Al Tayer emphasized that the primary focus should be on expanding economic opportunities across Islamic countries, strengthening international cooperation, and deepening regional and global integration, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“The main task is not only to resolve existing crises, but also to turn challenges into opportunities to strengthen countries. Current challenges require ending fragmentation in the Islamic world and reducing the risks of confrontation,” Al Tayer said.
He further highlighted the importance of adherence to legal norms, strengthening anti-corruption efforts, ensuring comprehensive social and economic development, and reinforcing relations among Arab states.
The conference brought together parliamentary representatives from OIC member states to discuss cooperation mechanisms, development priorities, and regional stability.
