UAE expresses strong support for Azerbaijan following Iran attacks

On March 5, the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, spoke by phone with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, condemning Iran’s attacks on Azerbaijani territory using unmanned aerial vehicles and wishing a swift recovery to those injured.

He also expressed appreciation to President Aliyev for Azerbaijan’s support during Iran’s missile strikes on the UAE and for his public condemnation of those attacks, Caliber.Az reports per the presidential website.

President Ilham Aliyev thanked Sheikh Mohammed for the call and reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s stance, condemning Iran’s missile and UAV attacks on the UAE. He reiterated that Azerbaijan stands with the UAE, as previously stated in his February 28 conversation with Sheikh Mohammed. 

The leaders additionally discussed matters of mutual interest.
