UAE president to join BRICS leaders in Russia for global cooperation talks
The President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, will pay an official visit to Russia on October 21.
Sheikh Mohammed is set to participate in events at the BRICS summit in Kazan, Caliber.Az reports per Kremlin's press service.
Additionally, Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold talks with the UAE President during his visit.
Notably, BRICS is an intergovernmental organization comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, and UAE.
The group's goal is to promote peace, security, and development, as well as to enhance economic growth through mutual cooperation. It seeks to provide an alternative to the global influence of Western powers.
The summit aims to foster dialogue and cooperation among member states, addressing key global challenges and enhancing economic collaboration.
More than 30 countries have confirmed their participation in the BRICS summit in Kazan, with 24 of them represented at the level of heads of state.
During its BRICS presidency this year, Russia will focus on "promoting the entire range of partnership and cooperation within the association on three key tracks, namely, politics and security, the economy and finance, and cultural and humanitarian ties."
