FM: More than 1,000 students and teachers killed or injured in Iran
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that more than 600 schools across the country have been damaged or destroyed amid the ongoing escalation, with over 1,000 students and teachers either killed or injured.
Speaking at the 61st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, Araghchi described the impact of the conflict on the country’s education system and civilian infrastructure.
“More than six hundred schools across Iran have been destroyed or damaged, as a result of which more than one thousand students and teachers have been killed or injured. The aggressors are threatening Iran with attacks on vital infrastructure, targeting hospitals, ambulances, medical personnel, Red Crescent rescuers, oil refineries, water resources, and residential areas,” he said.
According to his statement, the threats extend beyond educational facilities to critical infrastructure and civilian services, raising concerns about the broader humanitarian consequences of the ongoing conflict.
