UK appoints new ambassador to Azerbaijan

The United Kingdom has appointed Duncan Norman as its new ambassador to Azerbaijan, the British government announced.

Norman will succeed Fergus Auld, the current UK Ambassador to Azerbaijan. He will assume his duties in May 2026.

Upon his appointment, Norman expressed his enthusiasm for the role on the X platform.

“I am honoured to be appointed as the next British Ambassador to Azerbaijan. I look forward to building on the strong foundations of our bilateral relationship and continuing the important work on shared priorities to deepen the UK-Azerbaijan partnership,” he stated.
