UK prime minister, alongside six ministers to attend COP29 in Baku
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, alongside six ministers, is set to visit Azerbaijan to participate in the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), scheduled to take place from November 11-22, 2024, in Baku.
According to sources within the UK government, the high-level delegation will attend the key international summit, which will see heads of state and government representatives from around the globe converge to address pressing climate issues, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The summit’s main objectives include establishing new financial goals for climate change mitigation, advancing cooperation on green energy, and promoting sustainable development practices.
The conference, which is of significant strategic importance to Azerbaijan, is expected to result in pivotal decisions that will shape global climate action.
