Ukraine fundraising platform enabled purchase of 1,600 drones

Ukraine managed to purchase a total of 1,600 drones worth 3.3 billion hryvnias (approx. $90 million) through their governmental fundraising platform UNITED24 within the framework of the "Army of drones" project.

According to RBC-Ukraine, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov disclosed those figures, stating that part of those UAV's is of Ukrainian production.

He made this statement during his appearance at a conference called "Production of military UAVs: possibilities and challenges", where he said that the authorities are working to support drone manufacturers, as well as reducing bureaucracy to allow for the fast and powerful development of those businesses.

Caliber.Az recalls, that Kyiv announced the launch of the "Army of drones" project in the summer of 2022, which entails a systematic approach to the purchase, repair and replacement of drones. Initially, the purchase of 200 tactical military drones and thousands of ordinary drones was planned.
