Ukrainian, British envoys discuss security challenges in Baku
Ukrainian and British diplomats met in Baku to discuss bilateral cooperation, regional developments and current security challenges, Ukraine's ambassador to Azerbaijan said on June 4.
The meeting took place at the Ukrainian embassy in Baku between Ukraine's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Yuriy Husyev, and the newly appointed British Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Duncan Norman, Caliber.Az reports.
According to Husyev, the diplomats reviewed issues related to bilateral and multilateral cooperation, exchanged views on contemporary security challenges and humanitarian matters, and discussed prospects for further engagement in the region.
The talks also focused on strengthening coordination between the two countries and exploring opportunities for future joint initiatives.
Husyev expressed gratitude to the United Kingdom for its continued support of Ukraine and its efforts to defend its sovereignty and independence.
The two sides reaffirmed their interest in expanding partnership cooperation and agreed to maintain close contact to advance joint projects and strengthen international cooperation, the Ukrainian ambassador said.
Husyev also wished Norman success in his diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan.
