Ukrainian official praises Azerbaijan’s role in rebuilding Irpin
The Secretary of the Irpin City Council of Ukraine and Acting Mayor of Irpin, Angela Makeeva, expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for its support in restoring facilities in the city.
During a discussion at World Urban Forum 13 (WUF13) in Baku, she stated that around 70% of Irpin’s infrastructure had been destroyed during the hostilities, leaving thousands of people without homes, while 3,860 buildings were damaged or destroyed, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
She noted that, with the involvement of international partners, the reconstruction of the city had begun, with more than 20 organisations taking part. Azerbaijan, she stressed, holds a special place among Irpin’s partners.
She added that, with Azerbaijan’s support, a lyceum and the city polyclinic had resumed operations.
Makeeva also expressed the city’s readiness to expand co-operation with Azerbaijan and jointly restore socially significant facilities.
