UN-Habitat: Baku turns into global capital during WUF13

Baku emerged as a global capital during the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13), said Nga Kor Ming, Malaysia’s Minister of Housing and Local Government and President of the UN-Habitat Assembly, at the forum’s opening ceremony, according to local media.

He noted that the global urban agenda has never before been regarded as such a vital pillar of multilateral cooperation: "If we do not develop urbanization, we will break our promise to our children. This is not just a slogan for us, but also a call to action. Moreover, these measures must be grounded in the real world and economy. In this sense, we must pursue the right policies and strive to build housing for all citizens."

Nga Kor Ming concluded by thanking Azerbaijan for its organisation of the forum and warm hospitality.
