Former UN-Habitat chief: WUF13 to review progress on COP29 climate commitments
World Urban Forum 13 will offer an opportunity to evaluate the implementation of initiatives adopted at COP29, former Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme Maimunah Mohd Sharif said in response to a question from Report.
“World Urban Forum 13 will provide an opportunity to rethink, review and assess the extent to which the decisions and outcomes of COP29 have been implemented in cities,” she noted.
According to Sharif, the forum will also serve as a platform to assess how climate-related initiatives are being carried out not only in Baku, but across the world.
“It is important to understand the extent to which all of this is being implemented not only in Baku, but across the world. Many decisions were adopted during COP29 - on climate finance, support mechanisms and so on,” she added.
