UN-Habitat praises Azerbaijan for hosting WUF13 ministerial meeting

Anacláudia Rossbach, Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), has expressed gratitude to the Government of Azerbaijan for hosting the Ministerial Meeting on the New Urban Agenda at the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).

She made the remarks during the ministerial meeting dedicated to the New Urban Agenda, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

"Let me begin by thanking the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan for hosting this important Ministerial Meeting on the New Urban Agenda on the opening day of WUF13," she said.

According to her, 2026 is not only a moment to review the implementation progress of the New Urban Agenda but also an opportunity to define its future development path.

The head of UN-Habitat emphasized that the New Urban Agenda continues to serve as a key global platform for advancing housing and sustainable urbanization.

"Cities and human settlements are not only a hub for challenges but also a platform for the large-scale implementation of solutions," she noted.
