UNAIDS Executive Director hails Azerbaijan's efforts to fight infectious diseases

Azerbaijani Health Minister Teymur Musayev and the Executive Director of the United Nations (UN) Programme on Human Immunodeficiency Virus/Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (UNAIDS), UN Under-Secretary-General Winnie Byanyima have met today within the framework of the X Global Baku Forum.

Thanking the UNAIDS Executive Director for participation in the Baku Global Forum, Teymur Musayev said Azerbaijan has been closely cooperating with relevant UN agencies and supports their activities, Report informs citing the Ministry of Health.

Expressing pleasure with participation in X Global Baku Forum Winnie Byanyima said it was well organized. UNAIDS Executive Director commended Azerbaijan for work done towards fighting AIDS and other infectious diseases.

During the meeting, parties exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
