US ambassador highlights cooperation with Azerbaijan for COP29 climate conference success
US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mark Libby expressed satisfaction with the cooperation between the United States and Azerbaijan to achieve common goals at the upcoming COP29 climate conference in Baku.
Speaking at an event marking the 248th anniversary of US independence, Libby emphasized the significant joint achievements in the energy sector, citing US assistance in projects like the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Southern Gas Corridor pipelines, Caliber.Az reports.
"In the early decades of the US-Azerbaijan energy partnership, the United States provided critical support in the conceptualization, construction, and operation of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Southern Gas Corridor pipelines," Libby stated.
The ambassador highlighted this year's COP29 in Baku as the next chapter in the Azerbaijan-US partnership.
"We are pleased to work with Azerbaijan to support our shared goal of a successful COP29, which will accelerate the fulfillment of commitments already made and enhance our future funding ambitions," Libby concluded.
