US Congress delegation arrives in Yerevan

A delegation of the US Congress headed by Senator Gary Peters (Democrat representing the state of Michigan) arrived in Armenia for meetings with the country's leadership, the press service of the American Embassy said.

Caliber.Az reports with reference to Armenian media that during his visit on September 22-25, the senator will meet with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan, Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan, and other officials.

The talks are expected to discuss "Armenian-American relations and the impact of recent hostilities on the Armenian population of Garabagh."

Senator Peters will also travel to the Syunik region to meet with local officials and discuss security and humanitarian concerns.
