US continues to supply arms to Israel amid growing concerns The Washington Post's investigation
Since October 7, the United States has made more than 100 arms deliveries to Israel that have not been publicly reported.
According to The Washington Post, as part of aid packages, the United States transferred precision bombs, small-diameter bombs, bunker busters, small arms and other types of lethal weapons to Israel. And only two aid packages were previously announced: the supply of tank shells worth $106 million and components for the production of 155-mm shells worth $147.5 million. The American administration made decisions on supplies without the approval of Congress, citing an emergency situation.
In the case of the remaining aid packages, they were implemented without public debate because the cost of each delivery under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program was below the amount requiring executive branch approval by Congress.
The article said the supply data was shared by Biden administration officials during a closed briefing for members of Congress. The publication also notes that a high-ranking State Department representative refused in a conversation with the editors to name the total number and cost of all weapons transferred to Israel.
