US Embassy in Baku condoles death of ANAMA employee PHOTO
The US Embassy has conveyed its condolences to the family of an employee from Azerbaijan's Mine Action Agency who lost his life in a mine explosion.
Caliber.Az reports that the embassy's official Facebook page posted the message, affirming strong support for Azerbaijan's demining efforts.
On June 21, Rafig Deputat oglu Isayev, an ANAMA employee, tragically passed away in a mine explosion in Jabrayil district. Born in 1980, Isayev was fatally injured. The Jabrayil district prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into the incident.
In another unfortunate incident in Jabrayil district, a landmine explosion occurred in Horovlu village, recently liberated from occupation. Nuruyev Raghib Sahavat oglu, a resident of Goranboy district born in 1991, was driving a truck in an area presumed to have been cleared of mines. Tragically, the vehicle struck an anti-tank mine, resulting in varying degrees of injury to the driver.
