US expert: Peace to benefit both Azerbaijan, Armenia
Director of the Centre for Peace and Security in the Middle East at the US Hudson Institute Michael Doran has said that peace will certainly benefit both Azerbaijan and Armenia.
“Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan must implement the agreements reached at the end of the second Karabakh war,” the expert said in an interview with Report.
“The Zangazur corridor should be opened, the illegal exploitation of Azerbaijan's natural resources should be stopped, planting of mines should be stopped. The border must be demarcated,” Doran noted.
“Peace will certainly benefit both Azerbaijan and Armenia. I am sure that Pashinyan is aware of this fact. However, unfortunately, there are many forces in his country and beyond that do not want peace. Nevertheless, the interest of the White House and the US Department of State in establishing peace in the region is a positive factor,” he added.
