US hails return of four villages of Gazakh district
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has welcomed the liberation of four villages of Gazakh district, Azerbaijan.
Blinken made a post on his X account in this regard, Report informs.
“We welcome the announcement that Armenia and Azerbaijan have agreed upon the 1991 Alma Ata declaration as the basis for border delimitation between the two countries. This is an important step towards concluding a durable and dignified peace agreement.
Note that the 8th meeting of the State Commission on the Delimitation of the State Border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia and the Commission on the Delimitation of the State Border and Border Security between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan was held on April 19 at the conditional border under the chairmanship of Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev and his Armenian counterpart Mher Grigoryan.
The commission agreed on a number of issues, including the return of four previously occupied villages of Gazakh district to the Azerbaijani side.
