US shows documentary film about January tragedy victims PHOTO

The documentary film about January tragedy victims has been demonstrated in the US.

Thus, the documentary film entitled “Bloody Carnations”, dedicated to the victims of the January 20 tragedy, filmed by Azerbaijani film director Aziz Sadigov, was shown in New York, Report’s bureau in the US informs.

The diplomats from the Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan to the UN, representatives of Azerbaijani organisations operating in the US, diaspora activists, representatives of the local New York community, as well as our compatriots living in nearby cities and states attended the ceremony.

The national anthems of Azerbaijan and the US were performed at the beginning of the event. The memory of the martyrs of January 20 tragedy was revered by a minute of silence.

The event participants emphasised that the January 20 tragedy is a glorious story when people raised the voice of freedom and showed courage in the fight for their sovereignty. Azerbaijan entered a completely new stage during that period.

The Azerbaijani people have once again demonstrated their courage, bravery, heroism, and willingness to die for every inch of the Azerbaijani land. Despite 34 years passed, the January 20 tragedy was not assessed at an international level and those responsible for this crime were not punished.

The Azerbaijani valiant army restored historical justice and territorial integrity within 44 days under the leadership of Azerbaijani President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.
