US slams Iran’s attack on Nakchivan as "flagrant violation of Azerbaijan’s sovereignty"
The United States has strongly condemned what it described as an unprovoked drone attack by Iran on Azerbaijan on March 5, targeting Nakhchivan International Airport and a secondary school building.
The statement was issued by the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan and published on its official Facebook page, Caliber.Az reports.
The embassy said these attacks "injured innocent civilians and caused damage to critical civilian infrastructure."
The mission condemned the attack as "a flagrant violation of Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and a needless escalation of Iran’s aggression."
"The United States stands in full solidarity with Azerbaijan against these threats. Attacks on the territory of our partners in the region are unacceptable and will be met with resolute U.S. support for those partners,” the embassy added.
