US slams Iranian drone strikes on Azerbaijan, affirms solidarity

The United States has strongly condemned the Iranian drone attacks on Nakhchivan carried out on March 5 and expressed full solidarity with the people of Azerbaijan.

In a statement released by the US Embassy in Azerbaijan, officials said they are closely monitoring developments and extended wishes for a swift recovery to those injured in the attacks,  Caliber.Az reports per local media.

The strikes targeted the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, with one drone hitting the terminal building of Nakhchivan Airport and another falling near a school in the village of Shakarabad. The airport building sustained damage, and four people were reported injured.

The US Embassy underscored the importance of safeguarding civilian infrastructure and reiterated its support for Azerbaijan in the face of aggression.
