US Special Envoy for Iran holds series of meetings in Azerbaijan PHOTO
US Special Envoy for Iran, Abram Paley, recently visited Azerbaijan.
During his visit, he met with various officials including Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Head of State's Administration, Hikmet Hajiyev, Deputy Foreign Minister Samir Sharifov, Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Iran Ali Alizadeh, as well as the heads of the US and Israeli diplomatic missions in Azerbaijan, Mark Libby and George Deek, respectively.
According to Report, effective discussions were held on Iran, the application of sanctions, and the situation in the region. Abram Paley also discussed the Iranian regime's "destabilizing behaviour in the region" with Israeli Ambassador George Deek, and expressed his appreciation for the historical and cultural ties between Israel and Azerbaijan.
