Stuart Adams, President of the Senate of the US State of Utah, has accepted an invitation to visit Azerbaijan, extended by Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations of Azerbaijan, during his visit to the United States.
Expressed gratitude for the invitation, Adams underlined the significance of strengthening cooperation with Azerbaijan and praised the country’s support of multicultural values and interfaith harmony, the State Committee told Caliber.Az.
During the meeting, Mammadov emphasised that promoting tolerance is a key priority of Azerbaijan’s state policy.
He highlighted that the country provides safe and free conditions for the activities of all religious communities, including Christian denominations. A notable example, he said, is the official registration of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Azerbaijan.
Mammadov also stressed the importance of mutual contacts in developing Azerbaijani-American relations and extended an invitation to President Adams to visit Azerbaijan.
The meeting was also attended by Utah State Senators Kirk Cullimore and Mike McKell.
