Uzbek leader: Baku-Yerevan initial peace agreements — victory for Turkic peoples
Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has said that the Joint Declaration signed by Azerbaijani and Armenian leaders in Washington represents a victory for the Turkic peoples.
He made the remarks at the 12th Summit of the Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), which is underway in Azerbaijan’s Gabala City, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Mirziyoyev stressed that this declaration opens up new opportunities for cooperation in areas such as the economy and transport with the Turkic states.
Today, the UN Security Council needs serious reform, and the voices of developing countries must be heard more clearly within it.
The Uzbek leader also emphasised the importance of finalising the adoption of the Agreement on Strategic Partnership to strengthen the role of the OTS as an international organisation.
“We propose to deepen our economic and trade ties, including in the industrial sphere. Practical cooperation should be implemented through concrete projects. We suggest establishing an Industrial Alliance of Turkic States. In addition, we propose the creation of an electronic system called the ‘Turkic Green Corridor.’ We also call for the promotion of advanced technologies in green energy and public-private partnership projects in this field,” Mirziyoyev said.
