Uzbek leader commends Azerbaijani president for successful WUF13 organization

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has expressed gratitude to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for the successful organization of the World Urban Forum.

Mirziyoyev made the remarks during the leaders’ summit held as part of the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13), highlighting Azerbaijan’s role in facilitating the global gathering in Baku, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

President Mirziyoyev underscored that the World Urban Forum serves as a distinguished platform for addressing the most urgent challenges in global development. He extended his sincere appreciation to President Ilham Aliyev for the impeccable organization of the conference in Baku — “the pearl of the Caspian” — and for the warm hospitality accorded to the participants. 

Mirziyoyev also put forward a proposal to host the 15th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF15) in 2030 in New Tashkent. 

The 13th edition of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) to be held in Baku from May 17 to 22 brought together more than 40,000 registered participants from 182 countries.
