Uzbek official says Islamic humanitarian values unite Turkic world
The Turkic peoples are united not only by common language, culture, and history, but also by the humanitarian values of Islam, Sodik Toshboyev, Chairman of Uzbekistan’s Committee on Religious Affairs, stated.
He made the remarks at the first meeting of heads of state religious affairs bodies of Organization of Turkic States (OTS) member countries held in Shusha, describing it as an important step toward expanding cooperation in religious and educational fields, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Toshboyev expressed confidence that the format would evolve into an effective platform for strengthening spiritual and educational ties across the Turkic world.
He also highlighted the strategic importance of deeper integration in these areas, noting that cooperation is already developing within the OTS framework through the Council of Heads of Muslim Religious Boards and the Council of Muftis, alongside regular dialogue, fatwa coordination, and joint initiatives.
