Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan discuss deepening strategic partnership at Tashkent Investment Forum PHOTO

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan led by Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov, who arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the Tashkent Investment Forum.

At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Jabbarov conveyed sincere greetings and good wishes to the leader of our state from President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Caliber.Az reports with reference to the press service of the President of the Republic. 

Issues of further development and deepening of Uzbek-Azerbaijani strategic partnership relations, as well as expansion of practical cooperation in the context of the implementation of previously reached agreements, were considered.

Last year, mutual trade turnover grew by 27 per cent, and since the beginning of the year - by another 15 per cent.

Cooperation projects are being implemented in the automotive industry, energy, agriculture, electrical engineering, textiles, tourism and other industries.

The importance of further increasing the portfolio of projects, including with the attraction of funds from the Joint Investment Company, was emphasized.

To thoroughly prepare the economic agenda for upcoming summit meetings, a regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and the second Forum of Regions of the two countries will be held in the near future.

An exchange of views on issues of regional cooperation also took place. The main results of the trilateral meeting of the ministers of economy and energy of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan that took place today were highly appreciated.
