Western Azerbaijan Community calls on OSCE to support return of Azerbaijanis expelled from Armenia

Aziz Alakbarli, Chairman of the Western Azerbaijan Community, has sent a letter to the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Maltese Foreign Minister Ian Borg, calling on the OSCE to support the return of Azerbaijanis expelled from Armenia.

The letter provides detailed information about the expulsion of Azerbaijanis from Armenia, destruction of Azerbaijani cultural heritage, mosques, cemeteries, places of worship, the Community told Caliber.Az.

The letter states that the Western Azerbaijan Community respects international law, the principle of territorial integrity of states, is ready for dialogue with Armenia on the issue of return, but, unfortunately, Armenia is avoiding dialogue.

Alakbarli in his letter noted Armenia's attempts to prevent the community from participating in the OSCE events, called on the OSCE to condemn such actions of Armenia aimed against the freedom of expression and activities of civil society.
