Western Azerbaijan Community head: We will return to our land

Aziz Alakbarli, the Chairman of the Western Azerbaijan Community (WAC) and a member of the Azerbaijani Parliament, emphasized that the return to Western Azerbaijan is not only a matter of historical and legal right but an inevitability. 

Reflecting on the progress made during the 44-day Patriotic War and subsequent anti-terrorist operations, Alakbarli shared a firm statement regarding the community’s aspirations, per Caliber.Az.

He noted, “During the Patriotic War, we avenged the killings of innocent civilians in Khojaly. The strategy that Armenians have been building for 200 years has been destroyed. We will definitely return to Western Azerbaijan — this is our historical and legal right, and no one can prevent this.”

Alakbarli further pointed out that the issue of returning to Western Azerbaijan has gained significant international attention.

"The appeals of the West Azerbaijan Community are now circulating as an official UN document. Some forces need to abandon double standards and recognize our right to return,” he added, highlighting the importance of global recognition and support for their cause.
