Western Azerbaijan Community responds to Armenia’s provocative statement
Representative of the Armenian Foreign Ministry Edmon Marukyan has made a provocative statement regarding the snap presidential elections in Azerbaijan.
“The Armenian official who made claims regarding resuming the rightful name of Khankendi city would have thought about restoring hundreds of Azerbaijani toponyms that have been changed on the Armenian territory,” Caliber.Az reports citing the Western Azerbaijan Community.
“We would like to inform Marukyan, who is trying to accuse Azerbaijan of ethnic cleansing, that real ethnic cleansing was carried out by the Armenian government in Goycha, Zangezur, Daralayaz, Yerevan and other territories. The Western Azerbaijani Community believes that justice will prevail and the Azerbaijanis expelled from Armenia will return to their houses peacefully,” the message says.
“The Armenian authorities, hypocritically talking about peace, must put an end to the activity of such ‘diplomats’ as Marukyan, Vartan Oskanian, Arman Tatoyan and Artak Beglaryan, threatening Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and also create conditions for the return of Western Azerbaijanis,” the message says.
