Western Azerbaijan Community set to present proposals on Concept of Return in dialogue with Armenia

Spokesperson for the Western Azerbaijan Community Ulviyya Zulfikar has said that if the Armenian side responds to the call for dialogue and a meeting takes place, the proposals outlined in the Concept of Return, will be presented during the discussions. 

"The Concept envisages a peaceful, safe, and dignified return. By dignified return, we mean the restoration of the property of Western Azerbaijanis," she told Report, Caliber.Az informs. 

"In other words, they must return specifically to the territories from which they were deported. The idea of a buffer zone or alternative settlement areas will not be considered. Western Azerbaijanis should return to the houses from which they were forcibly displaced," she said. 

The Concept of Return adopted on January 26, 2023 outlines a general framework of objectives, principles, and preparatory and executive activities to be undertaken by the Community for the return of Azerbaijanis forcibly evicted from the territory of present-day Armenia. The Concept is based on international law, relevant national legislation, and historical facts and serves to establish justice and peace.
