Western Azerbaijanis put forward demands to Armenian government
Armenia should start a constructive dialogue with the community within the international control and monitoring mechanism to ensure the individual and collective rights of Azerbaijanis.
This is one of the demands that the Western Azerbaijanis (residents that used to live in the Armenian SSSR before being driven away by Armenians amid growing anti-Azerbaijani sentiment rising in the country and the start of the Karabakh War) community have formulated to the Armenian government.
The special ties of Western Azerbaijanis with Azerbaijan, which has taken care of them for a long time, should be taken into account, and an opportunity should be created for their unimpeded connection with the Republic of Azerbaijan after returning to their native lands, Report informs citing the concept for the "Return to Western Azerbaijan" initiative.
They demand that the Armenian government restore the property rights of the returned Azerbaijanis, as well as their houses and lands.
