Winter Exercises 2025: Azerbaijani general awards servicemen for exceptional performance at Turkish drills VIDEO

The commander of the Azerbaijani Separate Combined Arms Army, Major General Kanan Seyidov, has awarded the servicemen who worthily represented Azerbaijan at the "Winter Exercises 2025" in the Turkish city of Kars, upon their return to their homeland.

Seyidov, speaking at the official ceremony held on this occasion, emphasized the importance of joint military exercises and noted that the valuable experience gained significantly enhance the combat readiness and operational effectiveness of Azerbaijan’s armed forces, Caliber.Az reports via the Ministry of Defence.

He thanked the servicemen on behalf of the leadership of the Ministry of Defence for their demonstrated skill and professionalism.

The "Winter Exercise 2025" military drills are currently underway in Kars, featuring participation from 18 countries, including Azerbaijan. The exercises commenced on January 20, 2025, at the Ilhan Hamli Training Ground, named after Chief Warrant Officer of the Engineering Troops, Senior Staff Sergeant Ilhan Hamli.

Over 12,000 military personnel are involved, with Türkiye contributing 12,000 troops. The participating nations include Azerbaijan, the United States, Bangladesh, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Italy, Kosovo, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, France, the United Kingdom, Libya, Mongolia, Niger, Tajikistan, and Jordan.

The primary objective of these exercises is to enhance combat capabilities in challenging winter conditions. The program encompasses artillery firing, search and rescue operations, and the testing of coordination among various units. Special emphasis is placed on assessing the combat readiness and equipment of military personnel to ensure effectiveness in extreme environments.

The exercises are scheduled to conclude on February 15.
