World Bank to send experts on medium-term expenditures to Azerbaijan
Senior Governance Specialist and Head of the World Bank Task Force Andzs Ubelis has said that the World Bank will send experts on medium-term expenditures to Azerbaijan.
Ubelis made the remarks at a meeting of the Economic Policy, Industries and Enterprising Committee of the Azerbaijani Parliament, Report informs.
According to him, the workshops on the control of the Azerbaijani parliament in the field of medium-term expenditures in the budget are planned to be held in Azerbaijan, as well as experts in this field are expected to be invited.
He noted that the experts intend to conduct training in the field of budgeting on the basis of medium-term expenses, review the legislation, and give the corresponding recommendations.
"The World Bank Task Force plans to operate in several spheres," the chief governance specialist added.
Azerbaijani MP Vugar Bayramov noted that the Azerbaijani parliament is intensively working to improve legislation and ensure transparency in budget policy by using new tools.
He stressed the importance of effective using of public spending, strengthening the control of the Azerbaijani parliament, monitoring the corresponding programmes and improving existing legislation.
Bayramov said that MPs and representatives of international institutions are cooperating in this sphere.
