WUF13 hosting proves Azerbaijan’s international importance, says Israeli envoy
Israel’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Ronen Krausz said that the hosting of WUF13 in Azerbaijan reflects the country’s growing importance on the global stage, as he spoke on the sidelines of the forum in Baku.
“We arrived this morning to visit the WUF13 exhibition, where we explored both national and commercial pavilions and were impressed by the high level of the projects presented. The very fact that such a large-scale forum is being held in Baku demonstrates Azerbaijan's importance on the international stage,” he said, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
According to Krausz, Azerbaijan’s active participation in international events and the presence of numerous foreign delegations demonstrate increasing global recognition of the country.
“The fact that Azerbaijan continues to participate in and host such large-scale international events, and to attract participants from around the world, is evidence of recognition and the strengthening of its role in the international community,” the diplomat said.
Speaking on bilateral cooperation, Krausz noted that Israel and Azerbaijan already maintain active collaboration across several sectors.
“We already have established cooperation in the exchange of knowledge, experience, and best practices in urban planning, city development, and working methods. Israeli companies are operating in Azerbaijan, particularly in the construction sector, bringing their experience and technologies into project implementation,” he said.
He also highlighted Israel’s expertise in security, including both physical and cybersecurity, which he said is increasingly relevant to smart city development and digital transformation.
“In today's conditions of digital transformation of cities, it is extremely important to ensure the protection of information and data so that they do not fall into the wrong hands,” he emphasized.
