Yerevan daily describes further status of Armenians as "servants"
24 August 2022 11:17
An Armenian opposition daily has described the further status of Armenians as servants.
Ananiy Maakyan of Hraparak made the remarks in his article expressing pessimism about Armenia's "losing" diplomacy after the 44-day war, Caliber.Az reports.
"Before the 44-day war in Karabakh, I could say with confidence that the Armenian people are a people who love their homeland and are able to sacrifice even the most precious – their lives – for the sake of saving the Motherland. Unfortunately, the 44-day war and the events that unfolded after it tell a completely different story," he writes.
"The very fact that our people have accepted the shameful agreement of November 9 seems to have become clear that they will not only accept the loss of Karabakh but are even ready to surrender a number of Armenian territories to the enemy. And the real name of this phenomenon is not avoidance of war, but simply fear.
Of course, during the war and after it, thanks to our shameful, losing diplomacy, we clearly saw that we were left alone in the world, and no country wants to stand by us and protect us, but this does not mean that we should behave so cowardly and without the slightest resistance, like a gentle lamb they say, we will give the enemy everything he can reach.
I rule out that there are any other people, other people all over the world who, even if such a powerful country as the United States wanted an inch of land from it, would silently agree to this proposal and not try to resist it with the last means. From now on, we will have the status of a servant, a maximum of a servant.
I think it is much better for the nation, for the whole people to gather in the Republic Square, pour gasoline and set themselves on fire in order to disappear from this land with honour," Maakyan said.
