Youth leaders from 20 countries explore new global partnerships

The Baku Initiative Group (BIG) and the Global South Youth Platform (GSYP) discussed prospects for expanding cooperation during an extended videoconference held on the occasion of International Youth Day on August 12.

The virtual meeting brought together youth leaders from across the Global South to coordinate their activities at the international level and explore opportunities for joint projects, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

Representatives of the participating organizations outlined their respective areas of activity and priorities and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.

Heads and members of youth organizations from 20 countries, as well as advisers from the United Nations Development Program, took part in the conference.

During the discussions, participants examined opportunities to establish and develop cooperation between BIG and GSYP, as well as prospects for implementing joint initiatives. They emphasized the importance of expanding collaboration in areas of shared interest and building sustainable ties among youth organizations.

The sides also discussed potential joint initiatives at major international events and other activities, with an initial exchange of views on possible formats for future cooperation.

The participants further explored initiatives aimed at promoting young people's active participation in international processes, strengthening ties among youth from different regions, and engaging them in dialogue on issues of global importance.
