104 years pass since liberation of Baku from Armenian-Bolshevik occupation
Today marks the anniversary of the liberation of Baku from the Armenian-Bolshevik occupation.
According to Report, 104 years have passed since the liberation of the Azerbaijani capital.
On September 15, 1918, Azerbaijani and Turkish soldiers liberated Baku from the Bolshevik-Dashnak junta and wrote a glorious page in the history of our country. Despite the proclamation of Azerbaijan's independence in May, 1918, a part of the country's territory, Baku, and surrounding areas were under occupation.
The newly independent Azerbaijan had insufficient means to secure its territorial integrity. Amidst challenging political twists and turns, Ottoman Türkiye sent troops to Azerbaijan under the command of Nuru Pasha to ensure the territorial integrity of brotherly Azerbaijan. Despite the protests of the European states against the arrival of Turkish troops in Azerbaijan, Ottoman Türkiye has honorably performed its historical duty in August-September of 1918.
On September 15, the Caucasian Islamic Army and Azerbaijani corps liberated Baku from the occupants. Following this historic event, the capital of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic was moved from Ganja to Baku.
Throughout history, Türkiye has supported Azerbaijan both politically and militarily. From the first days of the war, which began on September 27, 2020, for the liberation of the occupied lands of Azerbaijan, Türkiye has given its political support to our country. Thus, the speeches and statements of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in just cause of Azerbaijan were once again the embodiment of friendship and brotherhood between the two countries. This support of the Turkish authorities and Recep Tayyip Erdogan personally played an invaluable role in the victory of Azerbaijan in its just struggle for the restoration of its territorial integrity.
Azerbaijani-Turkish relations continue to develop even further. Numerous documents signed between the two countries before and during the Patriotic War indicate the unity and support that the brotherly states have for each other.
