Azerbaijan’s SOCAR, Qatar’s UCC Holding sign MoU to boost energy cooperation PHOTO
Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR and Qatar’s UCC Holding have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at expanding collaboration in oil and gas, petrochemicals, infrastructure, and large-scale energy projects in third countries.
The agreement, announced by Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov on X, marks a significant step in strengthening strategic partnerships in the energy sector and elevating economic cooperation to the global stage, Caliber.Az reports.

A second MoU between the two companies focuses on joint engagement in Syria’s energy sector, with plans to help restore the country’s energy infrastructure and contribute to long-term regional stabilization and sustainable development.
During his visit to Qatar, Minister Jabbarov also met with Ramez Al-Khayyat, President and Group CEO of Power International Holding.
Discussions highlighted the importance of advancing mutually beneficial initiatives and explored opportunities to broaden cooperation in the energy sector through prospective joint projects.
