Istanbul marks Azerbaijani poet’s 130th anniversary
An event dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the outstanding representative of Azerbaijani literature, famous educator and public activist Ahmad Javad has been held in Istanbul.
According to Report, the event was organized by the Federation of Türkiye-Azerbaijan Associations (TADEF), the Azerbaijan Theatrical Vision Association Kharibulbul and the Azerbaijani State Committee for Diaspora Affairs.
A photo exhibition covering various periods of the poet's life was presented at the event.
Azerbaijani and Turkish officials including the Consul General of Azerbaijan in Istanbul, Sevinj Suleymanova, Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijan Theatrical Vision Association Kharibulbul Latafet Refig, TADEF Deputy Chairman Parviz Mammadzade, Deputy Chairman of the Sisli Municipality Omer Lutfi Ozenc delivered speeches at the event.
They spoke about the historical ties between the two countries and the legacy of Ahmad Javad, who stood out for his independent, exceptional position in Azerbaijan’s literary and artistic history, in strengthening these ties.
Then a documentary film on the life of the poet was shown, full of vicissitudes and struggles, followed by a performance called “Ahmad Javad's Man of the Heart”.
