Russia’s Lavrov offers condolences to Turkish counterpart over deadly earthquake

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has expressed condolences to his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu over the numerous human casualties and destruction caused by the February 6 powerful earthquake.

In a phone conversation, Lavrov confirmed Russia's readiness to provide the necessary assistance to Türkiye, TASS reports, citing the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"Following the telegram sent to the Turkish leadership by Russian President Vladimir Putin, the minister reiterated Russia's readiness to provide necessary assistance immediately," the ministry added.
