Azerbaijani MFA condemns Armenia’s military provocation
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry condemns Armenia’s military provocation, as a result of which an Azerbaijani serviceman was wounded.
According to the Azerbaijani State Border Service’s information, the Armenian Armed Forces opened fire from the positions located in Nerkin-And settlement of Gafan district at the positions of the border troops of the Azerbaijani State Border Service located at the Agbashyurd height of Zangilan district on the section of the Azerbaijani-Armenian state border passing through the Zangilan district on March 20 at 02:50 (GMT+4), Caliber.Az reports citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
“We condemn Armenia’s another military provocation and urge it to abandon its rather aggressive rhetoric and stop increasing tension in the region.
The Armenian side must stop abusing the presence of the EU civilian monitoring mission to escalate tension in the region and cover up its military provocations.
The presence of this mission in Armenia should not become a pretext for Armenia's refusal to fulfill its obligations.
The Armenian political and military leadership is fully responsible for the provocations against the peacekeeping measures being carried out by Azerbaijan in the region,” the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
