Armenia’s latest lawsuits against Azerbaijan unfounded, absurd - Spokesperson
POLITICS 30 September 2023 - 11:53
On September 29, Armenia filed further claims against Azerbaijan at the International Court of Justice.
In a comment on the issue in question, Spokesperson for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Aykhan Hajizada said, Caliber.Az reports.
The latest lawsuits filed by Armenia with the International Court of Justice for the purpose of applying temporary measures in the court case on the application of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (Armenia vs. Azerbaijan) are completely unfounded and absurd.
“The fact that Armenia does not renounce its claims to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, puts forward new claims with the aim of inciting hatred towards Azerbaijanis, ignoring the previous decision of the International Court in the mentioned case, is absolutely unacceptable.
Armenia is misusing the International Court of Justice to further its insidious policies, as was the case with the UN Security Council. In 2023 alone, Armenia appealed to this court for the third time. Let me remind you that out of three petitions from Armenia submitted in January, two were rejected, and one was granted in a limited manner. Armenia's petitions, filed in May, were unanimously rejected by the court in July.
Azerbaijan will present its position to the court, which will reflect full answers to Armenia’s unfounded claims,” Aykhan Hajizada said.
