Erdogan: Western countries ignore values they supposedly stand for

Western countries, including the US, ignore the values they supposedly stand for, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at the opening of an extraordinary joint summit of the Arab League (LAS) and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Riyadh, Report informs.

He criticised the West's double standards, noting that the Islamic world shows solidarity in the current situation in the Middle East.

Earlier, Erdogan said Türkiye sees "positive signals" on diplomatic efforts regarding the situation in the Gaza Strip. The Turkish leader also confirmed that Ankara is ready to act as a guarantor in resolving the crisis.
