"Hraparak": Soros backers seek to oust pro-Russian politicians from Armenian government
The Armenian daily "Hraparak" claims that Soros representatives have launched a campaign against the pro-Russian wing of the Armenian government and are trying to oust it.
"The target of the scandalous story about abuses in the Armenian Ministry of Economy is actually Minister Vahan Kerobyan, who was not even informed that the NSS was conducting investigative actions in his ministry that day, and his deputy was fired not because he left the country, but because of criminal charges," the article says, according to Caliber.Az.
"And when Kerobyan found out about it, he said that it is one thing to accuse a person of negligence, it is another thing to say that it is corruption, and the accusations that have been made have no basis in fact.
According to some sources, the Investigative Committee is doing everything it can to ensure that the 'trail' of the crime reaches the minister and that the accused testifies against him. In this way, as Kerobyan says, 'facts' will be added to the accusations against him. In particular, with the opening of the second case, concerning an agricultural programme called 'Smart Gardens', the state, according to official data, suffered a particularly large loss of about 240 million drams ($593,000 - ed.).
The government's Soros sponsors, various European-funded dark figures, have long been waging a fierce battle against the pro-Russian wing of the government and have been mentioning Kerobyan's name for months. Allegedly, they say, the minister is circumventing Western sanctions and allowing banned goods to be exported from Armenia or via Armenia to Russia. There are other people on the list, by the way. The list is not big, but Soros activists have consistently decided to oust these people from power," the newspaper says.
