Russian, Kazakh leaders discuss tackling terrorism

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev have expressed readiness to step up efforts to fight terrorism.

The content of the telephone conversation between the two leaders was reported by the Kremlin press service, according to Caliber.Az.

"Both sides emphasised readiness to build up cooperation in the fight against terrorism," the press service of the Russian president said in a statement.

Earlier on June 24, in a conversation with Putin, Tokayev expressed condolences in connection with the terrorist attacks in Dagestan's Makhachkala and Derbent cities. These attacks resulted in the deaths of 20 people, including both civilians and law enforcement officers. Additionally, 46 individuals were injured, comprising a mix of civilians and law enforcement personnel.
