Azerbaijan reduces electricity exports threefold

Azerbaijan exported over 924.5 million kWh of electricity from January to June 2024, which is 3.1 times less than the figure for the same period last year.

The total value of the volume of exported energy also decreased 6.2 times, to $51.7 million, Caliber.Az reports, citing the State Customs Committee.

The share of electricity in the total export structure for the reporting period was 0.4% (1.75% in January-June 2023).

According to SCC statistics, at the end of 2023, the total volume of electricity exports amounted to over 4.3 billion kWh (a 2.5-fold increase compared to 2022). The value of exports made up nearly $402.5 million (a 3.3-fold increase).
