Pro-Pashinyan MP: Lachin is not Armenian land
There is historical reality

It has been several days now that the Armenians illegally living in the town of Lachin and the village of Zabukh have been shedding tears over the fact that these settlements will return to Azerbaijani control on August 25. The Armenian media and the Armenian segment of social networks are full of "heartwarming" footage of how "the children of the village gathered to say goodbye before the village will be handed over to Azerbaijan."
Recall that according to the Trilateral Statement of November 10, 2020, the Lachin district was liberated from occupation on December 1 of the same year. At that, it should be noted that the Lachin district was liberated without a single shot being fired since the Azerbaijani army forced the occupier to do so on the battlefield for 44 days.
Of course, Azerbaijan has yet to do much to revive the Lachin district, because for 30 years of occupation the Armenians have almost ruined it - they destroyed all the infrastructure, and demolished buildings, and dwellings. At present, there are no normal conditions for life in those places.
However, a similar picture is observed in all the territories liberated from the occupation. Aghdam, Fuzuli, Jabrayil, and Gubadli actually exist only on the map. Armenians knew that Karabakh and its neighboring regions were not their lands, and that is why they were destroying everything there with such a fierce, brutal ferocity. No matter how many false tears they shed, they all understood - it is not their land, it is not the land of their ancestors. It is not by chance that the former president of Armenia, one of the leaders of the Karabakh clan Serzh Sargsyan openly admitted that "Aghdam is not our motherland" and Nikol Pashinyan stated without a shadow of regret that "over the past 30 years, Shusha was a miserable, colorless city. Did we need Shusha? And if we did, why was the city in such a poor condition?"
The same goes for Lachin. No matter how much the Syrian and Lebanese Armenians, who illegally settled there, huff and puff in public, both they and the Armenian authorities know that Lachin is Azerbaijani land. It is enough to cite here an interview given by Vigen Khachatryan, an Armenian National Assembly deputy from the ruling Civil Contract party, to the Armenian media back in June 2022, which, for obvious reasons, has remained available only to the Armenian-speaking audience.
Journalist: "Residents say they are not going to leave their homes. The head of Aghavno village (Zabukh - Ed.) and the residents ask why would they leave their homes, and their land?
Khachatryan: "How long have they been living there?"
Journalist: "It varies."
Khachatryan: "Of course, these people are not to blame. Everything should be done to ease their burden. This is the responsibility of the state. But obviously, the state cannot stand up and say that this is Armenian territory. A person should give away something that does not belong to him. If it's not yours and you say a thousand times that it's yours, no one will agree. We have to face the truth. I've always said that there is historical justice and there is historical reality. Both are important, but you cannot ignore reality and talk about justice. That means jeopardizing Armenia. We want to avoid war because today we are not ready for it. If we talk about giving up something. We are not giving up anything. We just can't keep something that wasn't ours."
Journalist: "But we kept it for years."
Khachatryan: "After keeping it for years, we admitted it wasn't ours, said we'd give it back, and as a result, we had 4,000 victims."
Journalist: "What should we do, surrender Karabakh?"
Khachatryan: "I say what to do. Do not engage in pseudoscience. Accept the historical realities and avoid a clash. Avoid involving Armenia in the war. This is not an easy task."
Journalist: "Are you blackmailing the public with war?"
Khachatryan: "Those 4,000 victims were the blackmail. It is necessary to admit the historical reality".
